Imagination Investigation (Ages 5-8)Delve into improv with this fun and playful class. We will use imaginative games to learn stage craft, storytelling, character, and teamwork. This class is a great place to discover the fun and excitement of improv and comedy.
Scenes for Performance I (suggested ages 8-13) emergent/seasoned This class is the precursor for the second level class. We will start to learn all of the techniques to make a scene come to life; character development, timing, learning to analyze a scene to find purpose for truth onstage. Materials needed: notebook with folder, paper and pencil.
Scenes for Performance II (suggested ages 14-17) This is a full on work out for your acting skills. We will get in there and work the scenes to make them as full and rich as possible. Including playing with character, timing, interactions, reactions, and narrative structure. If you like the Story and Acting elements of improv or want to hone your acting skills, this class is for you. Although you will have the opportunity to perform, it is not mandatory. Times and dates for out of class performances will be determined. This is a more advanced class for teens. Requirement: Scenes for Performance I and/or permission from the instructor.
An Inspiring Holiday Show
Calling actors, dancers, and singers of ALL ages!!! Mark your calendars the second weekend in September to audition for our annual Holiday show!
Each year in December we will be performing a community play with a Holiday theme. All who audition are cast. Rehearsals are a convenient 2 times a week with acting/blocking during the week, and dance/singing on Saturdays. There is a “no miss” attendance requirement for our tech weeks. For the price of about 2 months tuition you will receive instruction in acting, dance, and singing taught by our wonderful faculty. And don’t worry, no experience required!.
